Purpose. The purpose of the article is to investigate emotional problems and neurotic states in married couples and their impact on family dysfunction. Methods. To achieve the goal of the study, we used the following research methods: Methodology for diagnosing neurosis (K. Heck, H. Hess), Clinical questionnaire for identifying and assessing neurotic conditions (K. K. Yakhin, D. M. Mendelevich). Also, consultative work was carried out with married couples regarding their request. The empirical study involved 18 married couples. Results. It was revealed that the manifestation of neurotic states associated with the life of a married couple affects the harmony in the family, destroys plans for the future. Neurotic states could be one of the divorces reasons. The study showed that married couples have a high level of anxiety, both among women and men; women are more inherent hysterical type of response, men - asthenia. Most families formulated the request as a breakdown in relationships, an imbalance in a married couple, a deterioration in sexual relations, and difficulty in interacting with children. Conclusions. The study showed that in the majority of married couples, a predisposition to neurosis is manifested. Most immediately noted increased anxiety, loss of faith in a future harmonious life, despair. Prospects for further work are to develop a training program for the correction of personality neurotic manifestations.References
