The Dynamics of Development of Social Workers’ Personality Competence in the Terms of Vocational Education

The article is devoted to the actual problem of the formation of social work specialists’ professional qualities of personality in accordance with the competence approach to the vocational education. The concept of personal and professional competence, its structural components, is disclosed. The professional qualities of the personality which comprise the content of the operational, motivational-value and reflexive components of social work specialists’ personality and professional competence are considered. It is noted that the implementation of the problem monitoring is a promising means of spending systematic psychological researches on the formation of future specialists’ professional personality traits. The psychodiagnostic complex of techniques for the psychological monitoring of social work students' personal and professional competency was developed on the basis of theoretical analysis. The results of an empirical study of future social workers’ dynamics of development the personal competence during vocational training are reflected in the articles. An analysis of professional competencies has been carried out and the level of development of future social workers’ personality traits at different stages of vocational training in the university has been determined: high level of empathy, medium level of tolerance and self-monitoring, low level of communicative and organizational qualities and stress resistance, low level of personality’s reflective traits. It is shown that students are more conflicted, less congruent and responsible as well as more conformal in comparison with social work specialists’ expert assessments of the «Ideal professional». As a result, the insignificant and too slow movement in the development of future social workers’ professional personality competencies during vocational training was noted. Data, which are received, testify the necessity of purposeful formation of personal competence, so far as the traditional methods of vocational training do not determine the development of the personality of future social workers. The results of the research are the basis for creation of psychological technology of development of the social workers’ personal and professional competence in the course of vocational training at the university.
