The article represents the results of  theoretical and empirical study of "professional burnout" syndrome. The theoretical grounding of the problem concerns the issues of determining the peculiarities of the emergence, development and course of the "professional burnout" syndrome in pedagogical activity. It is noted, that  intensification of life, socio-political and socio-economic changes that taking place in Ukraine today, place new, more complex requirements on employees of educational organizations, which, of course, affect the psychological state of workers, cause emotional stress, development of a significant amount of professional stress. Profession teacher is one of those kind of occupations, a human-human, among whom the syndrome of "professional burnout" is the most common. Therefore, it is very important to study the peculiarities of its occurrence, development and course in pedagogical activity. We have chosen models that, in our opinion, most fully reveal the essence of the syndrome of "professional burnout". Our research was based on the model of "professional burnout" syndrome by cholars as K. Maslach and S. Jackson, V. Boyko. The use of these models during an empirical study made it possible to study profoundly and comprehensively the manifestations of the syndrome of "professional burnout" of teachers.

Particularly interesting for us was to find out whether there is a relationship between the components of the "professional burnout" syndrome and the marital status of teachers. Our study was aiming to determine the degree of development and features of the manifestation of the "professional burnout" syndrome of teachers.
